Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

  • For a site to be considered for an FPC project, it should meet the following criteria:

    • At least 15 acres in size.

    • Marginal soils suitable for a traditional array.

    • Generally open, with limited obstructions from trees or buildings.

    • Easily accessible.

    • Located near 3-phase power.

Sites that are prime farmland, wetlands, protected lands, or have a slope greater than 8% are generally not considered.

  • We value active input and involvement from landowners when it comes to choosing the type of solar array that will be installed. Your expertise about your own land and farming can offer invaluable insights that help us make informed decisions. The final decision on the type of array will also depend on technical and economic feasibility as well as local rules and regulations. We aim to strike a balance that meets the landowner’s wishes while also fulfilling the project's technical requirements and economic goals.

By actively involving you in these crucial decisions, we aim to create a partnership that is as beneficial for the landowner as it is for the broader community and environment.

  • Liability and other needed insurance, as well as operation and maintenance costs (including mowing) are generally the responsibility of the FPC partnership, not the landowner, unless otherwise specified in the lease agreement.

  • Within FPC, decommissioning is always the responsibility of the developer, in accordance with the guidelines and practices laid out in the lease agreement. Additionally, all projects developed by the partnership will have decommissioning bonds to assure this commitment.
